The Guardian Program
The Guardian Dog Program was made to keep the quality breeding bloodlines within the Texas Shine Family while providing families the top quality pups as perfect pets.

With this program, guardian families are allowed to have "the pick of the litter," while the breeding rights are retained for Texas Shine Doodles for a set amount of time.
How does
It work?
1. Apply using our online application
2. Pay the initial Guardian Fee ($1,000)
3. You are guaranteed best of the litter
4. Guardian Pups will fulfill their breeding term
5. Female pup families will receive $250 per litter
6. Male pup families will receive $50 per litter
7. After their service time is completed,
pups will be spayed/neutered for FREE!
Did you know?
All of our pups are health tested before they are considered for the Guardianship program. In this program, we will be focusing on female doodles in the meantime. However, we may start to incorporate male pups later on

breeding, the pup will need to be spayed/neutered.

Step by Step into the
Breeding Process
-Our Female pups in the program will begin producing around 18-24 months. When she is in fertile season of being in heat (which lasts from 14 - 21 days,)
you must contact us immediately.
-We will then host the male and female till she is bred and then they will
go home to be with their guardian family.

- Female Puppy Guardians will receive $250 per litter produced!

-The female pup will be brought back to us one week before her due date and will be hosted by us for 8 weeks until the litter is fully weaned.
(But don't worry, visitation is highly encouraged and accommodated for
within our business hours!
-Once the litter is 8 weeks and fully weaned, the female will be returned to her family.
Step by Step into the
Breeding Process
-Our Male pups in the program will begin producing around 18-24 months.
We will schedule based on when they can begin the breeding process on our females in breeding season (also referred to as heat.)
-We will then host the male and female pups at our home till we believe she is bred.

-If the breeding process is a success, your pup will be off duty and return home! However, if it wasn't a success we may require him to come back for another try.
​
-Guardians of the male pup shall receive $50 per litter produced!
Our Golden
Requirements
1. Guardians must have previous dog experience
2. If the Guardian home has other dogs, they must be spayed or neutered
3. Guardians must own and live in a home with a fully fenced yard
​
4. Guardians must provide appropriate veterinary or emergency care when needed
​
5. Guardians must train the puppy either at home or in a class for basic and advanced obedience and the pup has to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test by one year of age.
​
6. Guardian homes will have the dog groomed every 6-8 weeks to maintain a healthy fur coat.
​
7. Guardians must feed the dog a diet approved by the breeder (recommended brands are Victor, Sport Dog Food, Purina Pro Plan, Science Diet, Iams or Royal Canin & diet must NOT be grain-free)

8. Guardians must be able and willing to identify and notify us immediately when your female pup begins her heat cycle

-OUTSIDE CARE-
1. Guardians must keep the dog on a leash or in a fenced area at all times
2. Guardians must not allow a female in heat near intact males
3. Guardians must not allow a male guardian pup to breed with unapproved females

4. Guardians must ensure the puppy is socialized to adults, children and other animals
– VERY IMPORTANT –

5. Guardians must live within a reasonable driving distance from Houston, Tx (2 hours for female dogs, 1 hour for male dogs)
​
6. Guardians must communicate, cooperate and coordinate with the breeder regarding testing, mating, whelping, and other breeding related activities

Although this may seem like a lot of information, the process is simple and fights against puppy mills.
